Tea Party on the Moon: A Good Night Story for Poetry Month

Alice in Wonderland

Tea Party on the Moon

By Brooke Keith

Go to sleep, my darling.

Our tea party starts soon.

We will dine on finger sandwiches

On the craters of the moon.

Put on our fancy Sunday dress

Made of daffodils and lace,

Invite some fancy Martian’s

On the rings of outer space.

“How much stardust in your cup, sir?”

“One comet or two?”

“Would you like some Milky Way

Inside your fancy brew?”

Go to sleep, my darling.

Curtsey to the sun

Close your eyes, pinkies out

Time for tea-time fun!
